City of Iowa City administrative offices and other facilities will be closed Monday, Nov. 11, 2024, in observance of Veterans Day.

Please note that trash, yard waste, and recycling will be collected on Veterans Day. See details below.

Other office closures and schedules for the holiday include: 

Airport: Office closed. Jet Air will be open.

Animal Shelter: Closed.

Cemetery: Office closed. 

• Grave decorations: Beginning Sunday, Nov. 1, 2024, artificial wreaths, artificial flowers, or other decorations may be placed on graves for Veterans Day or for the holidays. These materials may remain in place through the end of February. If not claimed, they will be removed. 

Landfill and Recycling Center: Closed.

Library: Open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

ICPL Bookmobile: Not in service. 

Parking: No enforcement; parking office closed. 

Parks and Recreation: Normal facility hours. Administrative offices closed. 

Police: Administration and Records offices closed. Patrol and station masters on duty.

Refuse, Recycling, and Yard Waste: Normal operations. 

Senior Center: Closed. 

Streets: The City's Leaf Vacuum Program will operate. More at www.icgov.org/leafvacuum.

Wastewater: Office closed. For emergencies, call the 24-hour emergency number at 319-356-5177.
