2024 Summer Camp 

Embark on a summer of adventure and creativity with Iowa City Parks and Recreation's 2024 Summer Camps! Our programs are designed to provide children of all ages with an unforgettable experience filled with fun, learning, and friendship. Whether your child is a nature enthusiast, a budding artist, or an aspiring athlete, we have a diverse range of activities to cater to every interest.  

• Nature discoveries 
• Hands-on STEAM investigation stations 
• Arts and crafts 
• Campfire cooking, safety, and singalongs 
• Fishing 
• Sports and games, such as archery, darts, tag, badminton, and 4 square 
• Swimming 
• Special visitors 
• Boomerangs, rockets, and catapults

Location

Check-in will be the Ned Ashton House. Sign out will be at Upper City Park Shelter #2. 

Daily Schedule

Camp activities will be held 9 am – 4 pm. AM and PM

Supervised Play times are offered, at no additional cost, from 7:30-9 am and 4-5:30 pm.

2024 Camp Sessions

• Session 1: June 10 - 21
• Session 2: June 24 - July 3
• Session 3: July 8 - 19
• Session 4: July 22 - Aug. 2

Age/Grade Eligibility

Children having completed Grades K-6 in the 2023/2024 school year are eligible to register for our 2024 Summer Camp.

Those completing Kindergarten by June 2024 must have also turned age 5 by Sept. 15, 2023. 

How to register for Summer Camp

Step One

• Register in person at Mercer Park Aquatic Center and Scanlon Gym or Robert A Lee Community Recreation Center.

OR

• Register online

Step Two

• Submit the Camper Information Form to finalize the registration process after you have registered via ActiveNet (linked above). Please note: Your child’s registration is not complete until the Camper Information Form has been received by the Recreation Division and the ActiveNet registration has been made.

Iowa City Parks and Recreation uses Rainout Line to communicate cancelation information.

There are three ways to check or sign up for updates:

1. Download the free app to your phone by searching Rainout Line.
2. Visit rainoutline.com and search for "Iowa City Parks and Recreation."
3. Call 319-346-7080 and listen for prompts.

Please note that the app is only updated during regular business hours of operation. This does not include nights and weekends.
