The Iowa City Police Department has launched an incident mapping system that graphically shows information to the public. The Iowa City Police Incident Map will allow Iowa City residents a firsthand look at incidents occurring in their city.

The Incident Map contains two separate maps, a general map and one for sensitive incident types. The general map contains information on incidents such as case number, address, offense, and date. The sensitive incidents type is designated to protect victims of certain incidents including family offenses, sex offenses, and domestic assaults. Map users will not be provided details on these incidents and the exact location is removed.

The map can be filtered by incident type and date range. Data prior to 2024 is not available and there will be a 7-day delay prior to any incident being displayed on the map.
