What is City Steps 2030?

The City of Iowa City is in the process of developing a new five-year consolidated plan called City Steps 2030. The consolidated planning process serves as the framework for a community-wide dialogue to identify housing and community development priorities in Iowa City. Priorities established in the plan, through participation from the community, help to guide investment decisions for federal Community Development Block Grant and HOME Investment Partnership Program funds received from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

Can I Participate?

Community participation is a critical part of the planning process.  The city will seek input through a variety of methods including surveys, public meetings, stakeholder meetings, and other outreach activities.

Three public meetings were held at various locations to provide residents with opportunities to attend and comment. Additionally, the City held seven sessions to receive input from stakeholders.
